In this 1920’s bungalow, space was tight and the kitchen was apparently added into what was a porch many years ago. We had to work around the covered old exterior and uneven floors; we squared up the walls while not changing the perimeter footprint of the kitchen. We added a peninsula, using some wasted floor space, to give the homeowner more storage. An updated kitchen on a tight budget gave this homeowner new cabinetry, new appliances, new flooring and a fresh look while respecting the feel of the bungalow.
