We moved into our home in February of 2021. Now, almost three years later, I want to simply say that MountainSide builds a spectacular, well-built home. We had “must-haves”: first, no steep driveway; second, a view that included looking towards the town. Ted walked three different lots with us, and with his expertise, we chose the best lot. We also wanted rustic features in the interior to reflect our mountain home. Carole was so mindful with our wishes, from choosing flooring, to wall tiles, plumbing fixtures, and paint colors. She helped design the kitchen of my dreams and put together a home we would love.

There is this expression: “timing is everything”. This really was the case because our home was built during the Covid pandemic. Miraculously, Dan was able to stay one step ahead of supply chain issues as well as the health challenges concerning work crews during this trying time. Dan was diligent in making sure quality was at the forefront during construction. One example that comes to mind was when the wood floors were being installed, Dan immediately saw issues and had the installers pull them out. He contacted the supplier and had them replace the flooring with a better grade at no additional cost.

We have moved several times over the years. This is actually house number nine for us. We’ve purchased re-sales, spec homes, and semi-custom homes. Our current home is truly custom and we couldn’t be more pleased with the process and ease that Ted, Carole and Dan provided from start to finish. The house! It is over the top spectacular! Ted’s home planning design – how he fits all of what we wanted into this space is astounding. Gorgeous and functional! Carole’s guidance in interior design is fun I will always remember. You did exactly as promised – let me express my personality and taste but avoid trendy. Thank you for showing me how to hone in on the big picture. I cannot express how much Mark and I appreciate and adore Dan. He has built our dream home. His attention to detail blows us both away. Our recent move from North Florida to Brevard, NC resulted in living in a beautiful, exceptionally well constructed, energy-wise, custom designed home by MountainSide Homebuilders. Our home in Brevard was built while we still were living elsewhere which meant we had to put our total faith in Ted Futrelle to deliver the home that we had been planning for years.

MountainSide Homebuilders exceeded all our expectations for what we wanted. Numerous trips to Brevard allowed us to see every stage of construction and Ted involved us completely in the entire building process. He paid sincere attention to every detail of what we requested, working diligently at every construction phase to provide quality performance by all sub-contractors. And throughout the entire process. Ted gave us numerous cost saving suggestions without compromising results. The supervision that our house received and onsite control by Dan Futrelle could not have been better. Along with construction, we also had the great benefit of in-house interior design support from Carole Futrelle which was invaluable to us. We feel the total package we received to build our home in Brevard, could not have found elsewhere.

Ted Futrelle met the trust we put in him and MountainSide Homebuilders, and we also felt Ted and Dan went above and beyond to accomplish what we wanted. We were given the keys to a home we love and with the best quality construction and efficient features that we could have ever hoped for.

I don’t think you will ever know how much I appreciate all of your efforts in helping me to accomplish this remodel. I have so many things to thank you for. Dan’s expertise and efficiency in managing this project was incredible. He pays attention to the smallest detail. Carole – what can I say except “Thank you.” My home is beautiful; it is so well coordinated and in harmony with the outdoors. I could never have done this on my own. It’s been about 6 years since we moved into our Mountainside home in Deerlake, and Mary and I wanted to let you know how much we’re enjoying our house and thank you again for the great job you did. We haven’t experienced a single problem with the house and it looks about as good as it did the day we moved in, reflecting the high quality of your construction. As you may recall, we had a difficult lot to build on – steep and with potential drainage problems. You did a masterful job preparing the lot and picking a site for the house – it looks great from the street and we’ve never had a problem with drainage or erosion – even when we had 10 inches of rain over a 24 hour period. Likewise, the interior of the house is very nicely laid out and many people have complimented us on the design – we always tell them that we have Carole to thank for that. And, no matter how hot or cold, our utility bills have remained low. I hope you both are well; I know that you’re keeping busy – and with good reason

Jim and I want to thank you for the exceptional quality of our new house and for the outstanding building process. The Mountainside team is first rate, with your personal involvement deeply appreciated. We enjoyed working with Harold very much and Dan’s contributions helped get us that truly customized experience.

We love how the house is sited, the floor plan, the way the beams look and integrate into the kitchen, the palette, lighting and other design elements, the quality fit and finish.
